U.S. Twenty Cent Pieces

This lovely little silver piece is a must have for any type set collector. Designed by the illustrious William Barber, this great coin features a rendition of the seated liberty design used at the time. It's downfall however was the fact that the public would easily confuse the 20 cent coin with the quarter. Because of this issue mintages decreased dramatically and helped garner the reputation of the shortest lived denomination, after it's intitial production in 1875 to the final proof-only runs of 1877 and 1878. Most common and readily available examples are the 1875-S and 1875-CC.
