Roman Provincial / Greek Imperial

As the Roman Empire expanded the need for coins increasec and the logistics of getting all the coins from the capital of Rome was not advantageous. Roman mints to product coins began popping up all over the Empire. These mints were ran by Roman authorities and produced coins generally described as Roman Provincial Coins. Sometimes confusing, but in some catologs they are also referred to as Greek Imperial coins too.

Whatever you prefer to call them, these coins offer a unique twist of Greek denominations on Roman issued coins. This made the transitions of Greek areas to the Roman Empire quicker. These coins were pretty much only used by the local inhabitants for local trade.
