Deeply mirrored black and white cameo surfaces are seen on this gem proof coin. The coin is fully struck with every detail apparent on both sides. The Union coin design was found in a George T. Morgan's sketch book. They were struck by the New York Mint, a private firm, and were sold directly to the public.
