Would you exchange an eye for wisdom? Well...Odin did! The Norse god of both war and death, Odin sacrificed his eye in his pursuit of knowledge throughout the world. He finally found what he was looking for at the Well of Mímir, where a simple drink would provide an all-knowing sense of wisdom and intelligence, but only if he pledged an eye as payment before drinking the “draught of knowledge.” The “All Father” from Norse mythology, Odin is depicted on this 2 Cedis legal-tender coin as a tall old man with a flowing beard holding a spear and flanked by a wolf and a raven. This coin is part of a new series featuring Nordic Gods, among the most exciting and action-packed tales ever put to paper!
