The Chibi Coin Collection has extended to its first DC Comic villain and, of course, it’s none other than the most recognizable and popular comic book villain in pop culture history, The Joker. Unpredictable, violent and incredibly dangerous, he is chaos personified and has taken on everyone from his archenemy Batman to the Man Of Steel.
The Joker made his debut in Batman #1 in 1940. His origin is a mystery, maybe even to The Joker himself! He has told multiple different versions of it and, it seems, he recreates himself as often as there are days. Whether his true identity will be revealed is still a mystery to us all.
This officially licensed coin is made from 1oz of pure silver which has been shaped and coloured to resemble the Chibi art version of The Joker, instantly recognisable by his trademark green hair and purple suit. There will only be 2,000 of these wicked coins available worldwide. The Ian Rank Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse confirms it as legal tender.
The coin is sealed inside a specially designed case which is moulded to its unique shape to provide protection. It is then placed inside a The Joker themed outer box which has been custom-made for display purposes.
