The New Zealand Mint has launched the second coin in their Star Wars Chibi Coin series – and it’s Han Solo’s loyal co-pilot, Chewbacca! This limited-edition coin, made from 1oz of pure silver, is shaped and coloured in the chibi art style. The effigy of Queen Elizabeth II is found on the opposite side as confirmation that this is, in fact, a legal tender coin.
A legendary Wookiee warrior, Chewbacca carried out daring missions against the First Order behind the controls of the Millennium Falcon. Known as Chewie to his closest friends, he was part of a core group of rebels who restored freedom to the galaxy during the reign of the Galactic Empire.
The outer box features more images of Chewie and a large window so you can easily display this treasured collectible. Inside the coin is placed inside a specially designed case, moulded to the coin’s shape, for additional protection. A Certificate of Authenticity is printed on the box with the coin’s unique serial number.
With only 2,000 coins being minted these truly are limited editions.
